Creations for the sake of expression

In history, the tradition of metal working has been mostly craft oriented. In modern times we have made it more conceptual. I have made rings that are not necessarily made to be worn everyday, but have a conceptual idea about them.

Fine art, as designed by society, is work that has conceptual meaning behind it to the academic community. How does one define art? that is as subjective as the eye of the beholder.

When I am working on a piece what speaks to me is form and function and creating a bridge to help people connect with another level of themselves that they may not be aware of.

Sometimes you see a piece of art that connects with you and you connect with it and you don’t really know why. That is art for the sake of expressing what comes from your soul, and feelings, and an attempt to capture that which is ethereal.

Besides jewelry, I have made various pieces, such as candelabras and functional tables that are also made from a craft perspective.

Technology and cage like structures, capturing us, the human form. And we, as humans, we are out of whack. we are technologically advanced, but unfortunately we are still wrestling with the same emotional and psychological issues since the time of Plato, or before.
